The Egyptian Lover is the stage name of Greg Broussard, an American musician, DJ, and record producer from Los Angeles, California. He is known for his work in the genres of electro, hip hop, and breakdance music in the 1980s, and is regarded as one of the pioneers of West Coast hip hop. Broussard was a member of the LA-based hip-hop group Uncle Jamm's Army, and released several successful solo albums, including "On the Nile" (1983) and "Electro Pharaoh" (1984). He is also known for his use of synthesizers and vocoders in his music, and for his energetic live performances.
