My plan is to drive cross country in July West Coast to East Coast. Going to be stopping in several towns that I'm curious about along the way. Do you find that traveling in July it's hard to find a hotel if you don't book ahead? How far ahead would I need to reserve? I was hoping to just drive until I was tired each day but midsummer is probably not that easy. Last time I drove cross country it was September and I had no problem. Thanks for your advice in advance!
